What he does

JT got called into work early this morning for a case they were working! As soon as first light hit and they began the search again out came the reporters. It's pretty hard to think on your feet without giving away too much personal information to the reporters and when your working with tides and currents there are alot of unknown factors but he held his own and did a great job.

4 Months, wow it's gone by fast!
It seems like only yesterday our dating life transformed into married life. I'm still trying to figure out how to split the bathroom evenly when we are both getting ready at the same time, but I have to admit that I am enjoying that my husband lets to clean, clean out closets, organize and purge my stuff :) All in all, I love coming home from work and finding him there! There is no greater feeling then knowing that your work day is over and your home life begins with the one that you love. We are still transforming my house into our house, and the newest addition is a new bedroom set. We recently broke our bed frame . . . everyone get your minds out of the gutter . . . we were both sitting on the same corner at the same time, needless to say I will be cutting back on the chocolate and cookies :) So stay tuned for our new bedroom pictures and continue to transform our house and our lives. We love you all and here is to lots more monthly anniversaries!

Fighting Back!
On January 16 a helo went down in the fields outside Corpus Christi killing three of the crew and putting the fourth in the hospital where he is still recovering. It was a tragedy that saddened a community and a nation. Two states away in a little town in Kansas lies a church. This church has decided that they believe that God is punishing America and that the helo crash was God punishing the military. They believe that the three Navy officer’s deaths were a good thing and that God caused it. They then decided that they would descend upon Corpus Christi and protest during a memorial service being held at the Naval Air Station in Corpus. They chose the wrong town to protest in. If you've ever heard of Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas then you've also heard of the Patriot Riders. The Patriot Riders attend the funerals of fallen servicemen and block out any and all who would disgrace these funerals to allow these families to bury their dead in peace.Sorry for all the back story, now to the good stuff. On Saturday Feb 2nd the patriots of Corpus Christi rose up against these evil people and showed them that we are a city to be reckoned with. Over 3,000 people showed up to fight back against the protestors. With over 1,000 bikers on scene and a myriad of others in attendance we raised our banners and flags high and showed our support for our troops. I drove out with my friend Eddie and we set up show on the side of the road about a 1/4 mile from the base gate. We had signs and had my truck tagged up with patriotic writing. At one point we had 4 war vets, 3 college students, two coasties, a biker and his wife, and a photographer all piled into the back of my truck. Picture this if you will. 1000 Harleys thundering, people honking car horns, people waving flags and cheering. Now imagine 2 miles of this and you have a good idea of what it was like. We came out in such force that the protestors didn't show their faces anywhere near the memorial service. We know they were in Corpus because they were kicked out of several restaurants after people found out who they were but they knew better than to show their faces at the memorial service. We are patriots and we will not stand for the deaths of our brothers and sisters and sons and daughters to be marred and disrespected by the liked of some fanatical idiotic church group. "Church group"? More like cult group. I could rant on and on forever about how men die so that they can have the freedom to protest soldier’s deaths or how a so called church group twists reality to carry out their sick mission. But I won't. Just know that Corpus Christi is a city that loves its troops and we are not to be messed with!
In Memory of Grandma Boots
Every year that my friend Barbie Bowen has been doing Relay for Life I haven't been able to attend, except for this year :) I am so excited that I get to be a part of it this year and that I get to do this in memory of my Grandma Boots who passed away from Breast Cancer. At Relay, people from within the community gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this disease. Relay participants help raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue. The events are held overnight to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps. Through the survivors' lap and the luminaria ceremony, we honor the people who have faced cancer first hand, and we remember those who have been lost to this disease. If you would like to help support us, please go to http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RelayForLifeHighPlainsDivision?pg=personal&fr_id=6481&fr_id=6481&px=4763069

God has blessed them with a beautiful Angel!

Tonight at 9:30 Italy Time, Anna Bella Aramburu was born! She is a petite 7lbs and 2 oz and 20.5 inches long. She has a tuff of dark hair for now and Vany says she looks like me (sucking up to her Zia already I see! ) There were a few complications but Vany did amazing and did what she needed to do and everything worked out just fine! Phillip is overly proud (as he should be) and said he will be sending me photos soon, so standby for more information. We couldn't be more excited for them in this new chapter of their lives and until we get to see that beautiful bundle of joy we will stand by and be the proudest Zio and Zia ever!
